Dear Member,

I am really delighted to have been nominated by Chinese for Labour. I wanted to write personally to you as a member to say thank you and to briefly explain why your support is so important to me and how I believe we can together make Labour a genuine movement for change and return our party to government.

My campaign has been all about bringing Labour together as a party and earning the support of groups such as yours is a central part of that.

With people suffering around the country at the hands of cuts the Con-Dems are making it must be our central focus to get back into government. To do this we must again make our party reflect the society we represent and be rooted in the values of our communities. Groups such as Chinese for Labour are absolutely vital to our achieving that goal.

The commitments I have made to double party membership, to have an elected party chair and to train 1000 party members around the country in community organising, all reflect my passion to help make our party a genuine movement for social and economic change.

One of Britain's strengths is its diversity, and that is one of Labour's strengths too. We are an internationalist party which, thanks to your hard work, is able to put our values into action at home and abroad.

The UK works closely with China on a wide range of issues, which reflects not only China's increasing economic and political weight but also the desire of both countries to work closely together to tackle the challenges of the future. I was proud while in government that Labour worked closely with the thriving Chinese community in the UK.

I hope therefore that as well as having the privilege of being supported by Chinese for Labour that you will also give me your vote when the ballot paper arrives at your home by post at the beginning of September. Please note that if you are a trade union member you will be able to vote twice and will receive an additional ballot paper at the same time.

在联合政府的大肆削减开支计划之下，全国民众皆苦不堪言。由此，我们必须将重返执政舞台作为中心焦点。要达成此业，就必须再次使我党体现所代表的社会，并扎根于社区价值理念之中。像华人工党这样的团体，对我们达成目标是绝对关键的。

我曾承诺要使党员人数增加一倍，通过选举产生一名党主席，并且在全国范围内培养一千名党员从事社区组织工作，这些都反映了我渴望帮助工党真正促就社会和经济变革。

英国壮大的因素之一在于其种族多元化，这恰恰也是工党壮大的力量之一。我们是一支国际化的党派，多亏各位的辛勤工作，我们才能在国内外实行我们的价值理念。

英中两国在广泛领域合作紧密，不仅体现在中国日益增长的经济和政治地位，还体现在两国紧密合作面对未来挑战的愿望。工党与蓬勃发展的英国华人社区有着密切合作，这也是我在政府期间感到骄傲的地方。

因此，除了获得华人工党支持的殊荣外，我也希望，在九月初选票寄达你家之时，你们都会投我一票。敬请各位留意的是，如果你是工会会员，你将会在同一时间收到一张额外的选票，可以投两次票。
